If you’re a longstanding insomniac or even just prone to the occasional restless night, why not try combining your next restful getaway with a tailored sleep programme?

Many of us use holidays as a time to get some serious rest. And while health and wellness getaways and retreats are abundant, what if they could go a step further? People are increasingly seeking wellness holidays that not only offer opportunities for revitalisation, but target specific issues that offer lasting health benefits.

One of the most desirable of these is sleep. We know a proper night’s sleep prepares you well for the next day, but over time, healthy sleep habits offer myriad health benefits, including a strengthened immune system, higher energy levels, improved weight management, better memory and can even slow down the ageing process.

A select crop of hotels and resorts are offering services specifically designed to improve your sleep or sleep habits. A trend coined ‘sleep tourism’, these experiences range from simply ensuring guests get a good night’s rest to tailored programmes of assessments and treatments that address individual needs or even specific sleep conditions.

Ahead of World Sleep Day this Friday 14 March, we’ve put together a list of our favourite options if you’re considering adding a sleep retreat to your 2025 travel wish list.
