Bodyrok, Covent Garden

Get ready to get sweaty. Bodyrok, the cult US reformer-based fitness brand, has opened its first UK studio in Covent Garden, bringing its high-energy, results-driven workouts to the capital for the first time, with up to 10 London studios planned.

ARMA, Clapham

If you’ve ever been curious about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) but felt intimidated walking into a traditional fight gym, ARMA is trying to change that. This sleek new Clapham studio is a first-of-its-kind destination dedicated entirely to BJJ, with a strong focus on inclusivity and community.

Despite the sport’s male-dominated reputation, around 40% of ARMA’s members are women — many in their 30s to 50s — drawn by the chance to try something new, build confidence and learn practical self-defence. Demand has been strong from the start, with more than 200 people signing up before the doors even opened. Leading the coaching team is world champion Ffion Davies, a passionate advocate for bringing more women into the sport.

With BJJ participation in the UK rising rapidly — according to UK Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association — ARMA is tapping into one of the fastest-growing combat fitness trends right now.

Stretch Life, Waterloo

Stretch Life has landed right inside Waterloo station, making post-commute decompression easier than ever.

Specialising exclusively in clinically led PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) assisted stretching, this isn’t a vague feel-good stretch — it’s science-backed mobility work delivered one-to-one.

Sessions run from 25 to 75 minutes and promise better movement, less pain and results you’ll feel immediately, whether you’re a desk dweller or a serious athlete.

Revolt Cycling, Holborn

London’s first energy-generating spin studio, Revolt Cycling, turns your sweat into actual electricity. Every pedal stroke feeds power back into the studio, helping run the lights, showers and operations — and you can see your personal energy output after class.

One session can generate up to 5.2kWh, which is almost a full day’s power for a UK home.

Add yoga, Pilates, infrared saunas, a protein shake bar and a strong sustainability mission (each class removes one plastic bottle from the ocean), and you’ve got one of the most future-facing gyms in the city.
