The little-known beauty website where you can buy products for up to 95% off – including Sol de Janeiro and ESPA

We earn a commission for products purchased through some links in this article

Beauty-lovers can get their hands on Charlotte Tilbury and Estee Lauder for less, so long as they don’t mind the products being a little wonky.

We all love a beauty bargain, but did you know that snagging discounted beauty products can also be a win for the environment?

Boop is shaking up the beauty industry by offering premium products at jaw-dropping discounts — all because they’re a little ‘wonky.’

Think of Boop as the beauty world’s best-kept secret. Its where high-end products go when they have minor packaging flaws, discontinued branding, or are simply surplus stock.

And while they may not look pristine on the outside, the inside is just as luxurious as what you’d find at major retailers.

Living360’s content editor Evelyn Richards investigates the best Boop deals, speaks to the founder and tests out a product herself.

The ugly truth of wasted beauty products

If you’ve ever hesitated to buy a discounted beauty product, let’s put things into perspective: the beauty industry produces 120 billion pieces of packaging each year, and an estimated 95% of cosmetic packaging gets thrown away, according to CleanHub.

That’s before even mentioning the thousands of unsold products that end up in landfill every year due to minor imperfections or overproduction.

A 2022 report found that 10% of beauty products go to waste within supply chains, amounting to $4.8 billion (£3.8 billion) in discarded products annually, according to Professional Beauty.

But here’s the good news: you can help reduce this waste by giving perfectly good products a second chance.

Boop’s founder, Yasmine Amr, saw an opportunity to do just that.

“I was working in the beauty industry at the time, and waste was just part of it – much like the fashion and food industries,” Yasmine explains. “People were thinking critically about packaging waste and coming up with great solutions, but not so much about actual product waste.”

Boop launched almost a year and a half ago, offering a simple yet effective solution: giving premium beauty products another chance rather than sending them to landfill.

“The beauty of Boop is that it’s a really simple solution to a big problem,” says Yasmine. “We’re just giving these products another chance!”

And it’s already making an impact – as of February 2025, Boop has saved over 175,000 products, preventing more than 10,400kg of beauty waste from ending up in landfill.

How does Boop work?

Boop partners directly with brands, retailers and distributors to rescue beauty products that are perfectly good but don’t meet conventional retail standards.

“We knew mass beauty products had discount outlets, but no one was catering to the premium and luxury side of the industry,” says Yasmine. “That’s when I decided to test out a concept – an outlet for luxury beauty products with items sourced directly from brands, retailers and distributors.”

Boop’s inventory includes:

  • Excess stock from brands that overproduced
  • Discontinued products or older versions with previous branding
  • Packaging imperfections, like dented boxes or missing outer cartons
  • Short-dated products (which always have their expiry dates displayed on the website)

Despite these minor flaws, every product Boop sells is brand-new and unused – and at discounts of up to 95% off.

Boop deals you need to know about

Boop rescues high-end beauty products that might otherwise go to waste and offers them to savvy shoppers at heavily discounted prices. And when we say discounted, we mean up to 95% off – yes, you read that right.

These are L360’s favourite deals:

Even Boop’s founder has her favourites.

“I’m a huge fan of the ESPA ranges we have on-site – we’ve got a huge selection from skincare to cleansers to body care and room fragrance,” says Yasmine. “If you’ve not tried Margaret Dabbs for hand and foot care, you’re missing out! It’s like an at-home spa, and we’ve got items up to 80% off on their range.”

I tested a Boop product – these are my thoughts

I’ll admit, I was a little sceptical at first. Could a ‘wonky’ beauty product really be just as good as the ones straight off the shelf?

To put it to the test, I dipped my toes in and purchased the ESPA Optimal Skin Cleansing Oil – a product I’m very familiar with – from Boop at a 40% discount at £2.99.

Upon receiving the product, I found no discernible difference between this and the same product purchased directly from ESPA or other retailers like ASOS. The packaging was intact, and the quality was impeccable.

I also received a free MonuSKIN Firming Fiji Facial Oil, which was an added treat – especially since I had only bought a very cheap product.

The one thing I will say is that my shipping came to £4.99. This is pretty standard for the UK, but it’s something to keep in mind. Free shipping kicks in on orders over £30.

Overall, this experience not only saved me money but also reinforced the value of supporting initiatives that reduce waste in the beauty industry.

Since then, I’ve been addicted to the website, trying to find the best budget beauty buys.

The future of sustainable beauty

Shopping ‘wonky’ isn’t just about scoring a deal – it’s about making the beauty industry more sustainable.

Every time you buy from Boop, you’re preventing an unused product from ending up in landfill and reducing demand for excess packaging. It’s a small choice with a big impact.

Eco-conscious beauty lovers could also consider buying products from sellers on eBay, Vinted and Depop. This doesn’t have to be icky – ensure you’re filtering for new and unopened products for health and safety reasons.

I love Japanese skincare and struggle to get it in the UK, bar the odd lucky find in TK Maxx, but Vinted has become my go-to for getting my hands on my favourite face cleansers and hair masks.

Not only can I buy products for cheaper on second-hand sites, but I’m also stopping unwanted products from going in the bin.
