Ahead of the highly anticipated sequel and the upcoming Met Gala, we’re decoding exactly how Emily Blunt achieves her glowing skin and perfect hair.

Twenty years after Miranda Priestly first swept onto our screens, The Devil Wears Prada is returning for a second strut down the runway.

But while the fashion may have evolved, one thing fans can’t stop talking about is how little its leading ladies have changed — especially Emily Blunt.

So what actually goes into that glow? From the exact products used at her latest London premiere to the facial techniques her trusted aesthetician swears by, we’ve broken down Emily Blunt’s red carpet beauty routine.

Emily Blunt’s skincare secrets

Emily’s facialist, Biba de Sousa, has long championed a skin-first, non-invasive philosophy — one that prioritises circulation, hydration and recovery over aggressive treatments.

“Leading up to awards season, I saw Emily several times,” Biba told PopSugar. “She’s flying literally all over the world and her skin needed some TLC… [she] complained about the effects of dry and humid winter climate on the East Coast on her skin and about dehydration from multiple air flights.”

That “TLC” centres on techniques that support the skin’s natural function: microcurrent facials, lymphatic drainage, gua sha to “stimulate meridian points” and fascia release, a massage method designed to ease tension and boost circulation.

“Fascia release is a manual facial manipulation technique […] to release facial expression tension and to enhance blood circulation,” she explained. “It’s also relaxing, which is what Emily needed.”

Just as important is what’s left out.

“Emily’s skin is in very good shape, so she doesn’t need much intervention […] I don’t recall ever putting acids on her face. Not searching for extreme treatments has preserved her skin so well.”

When it comes to products, red carpet prep often begins with Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Cream, a backstage staple used to deeply hydrate and prime the skin in one step.

Emily has also previously told Glamour magazine that Clé de Peau Beauté concealer “does the most fantastic” job — an insight into her preference for enhancing, rather than masking, her complexion.

Emily Blunt’s makeup routine

On the red carpet, Emily’s makeup is never overpowering, but it is always precise.

Makeup artist Jenn Streicher builds her look from the skin up, beginning with targeted skincare. As she shared with Chantecaille: “I love to start with the Chantecaille Gold Energizing Eye Recovery Masks […] I always like to start on the eyes.”

From there, hydration is layered using Rose de Mai Face Oil, CBD 300 Face and Body Cream and Nano Gold Energizing Eye Serum, all from Chantecaille, creating a smooth, radiant base before any makeup is applied.

Complexion is kept breathable with Future Skin foundation in Alabaster alongside Real Skin+, both from Chantecaille, for subtle, strategic coverage. The result is a finish that looks polished on camera, but never heavy.

For the eyes, Jenn works in soft, tonal layers — sweeping Chantecaille Mermaid Eyeshadow in Copper through the crease, defining the lash line with Chantecaille Luster Glide Silk Infused Eye Liner in Jasper and adding dimension with a touch of Chantecaille Luminescent Eye Shade in Cheetah.

“I love the way it creates just a very subtle shine — a little glistening pop,” she said.

Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara is applied generously, while brows are softly set with Chantecaille Full Brow Perfecting Gel + Tint rather than filled in, keeping the look modern and effortless.

The complexion is finished with Liquid Lumière in Sheen for a pearly highlight and Cheek Shade in Butterfly, both from Chantecaille, for a natural flush. On the lips, Emily keeps things polished but fresh, layering Le Matte Stylo in Snapdragon with Lip Veil in Coral Bell, both from Chantecaille, for a soft, dimensional finish.

For Emily’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 London premiere look, Charlotte Tilbury revealed she wore a similarly refined array of products, all from Charlotte Tilbury:

Emily Blunt’s hair routine

Emily’s hair is the final piece of the puzzle — and, like everything else, it’s rooted in precision rather than excess.

For The Devil Wears Prada 2 London premiere, her hairstylist, Laini Reeves, began by creating a smooth foundation using the Dyson Supersonic, paired with a paddle brush, to achieve a clean side parting and controlled finish.

From there, shape was built using the Dyson Airwrap, working in small, vertical sections to create soft waves through the mid-lengths and ends.

The key, she noted, was “keeping everything close to the head for that sleek, elongated silhouette.

The final look was sculpted rather than styled. Around the face, waves were brushed out and shaped into a soft Marcel form, creating structure without stiffness.

In another post, Laini revealed the finishing steps: prepping the hair with Tresemmé A-List Collection All-in-One Style Primer, then working Tresemmé A-List Collection Bonding Oil through the lengths to achieve a high-gloss, almost liquid texture. The look was set with Tresemmé Workable Hairspray and perfected with the Tresemmé A-List Collection Instant Fix Styling Stick to smooth flyaways.

“To finish, I refined the hairline […] smoothing any flyaways and perfecting that sleek, editorial finish,” she said.
