Finishing a marathon may elicit a euphoric sense of personal achievement. But free stuff? Priceless.

Fortunately, for anyone planning on running — and completing — the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April, there’s a veritable smorgasbord of free things available to anyone who can prove they’ve participated.

The predictable pints and pastries have all been pledged by nearby proprietors — and some a little further away — but this year, there’s also an array of recovery and long-term health and wellness offers for those hoping to ride the finish-line high a little longer.

Here, we list all the best freebies to know about before the celebrations take over.

Food and drink freebies

If you think you’ll need a crisp, celebratory pint after all that exertion, Castle Pubs across London are offering a free draught pint of Camden Hells to medal holders on the day. The Gipsy Moth in Greenwich, The Sun Inn in Barnes, The White Horse in Parsons Green and The Engineer in Primrose Hill are just a few of the pubs involved, so you’ve got plenty of options to choose from.

Glass of bubbles or a pint in Shoreditch

Anyone in Shoreditch on the day — medal in hand — can also expect a well-earned glass of prosecco or pint at The Brush, East London’s pub, cafe and dining spot.

Sparkling wine at Kaya Great Northern Hotel

Heading home via King’s Cross after the marathon? Kaya Great Northern Hotel is more than happy to host you for a pitstop, complete with a glass of sparkling wine at the GNH Bar & Terrace. You’ll need to be quick though — the offer is only available for the first 45 runners, since this is the 45th year of the London Marathon.

If you need somewhere to stay, the hotel also offering a 10% discount to those booking its Marathon Package, which includes a runner’s goodie bag filled with treats to get you through the big day.

House wine or pint at The Lamb in Bloomsbury

Medal holders in the Bloomsbury area stopping by The Lamb for a post-race drink or meal can also expect a complimentary draught pint of their choice or a small glass of house red or white.

Pint of Jubel at Bow Street Tavern, Covent Garden

Those desperate for a pint immediately after crossing the finish line should head straight to Bow Street Tavern in Covent Garden after collecting their medal. Here, a free pint of Jubel awaits all medal holders.

Lager or bubbles at Kolamba

Soho-based Sri Lankan restaurant Kolamba will be rewarding finishers with a well-earned Lion Lager or glass of bubbles. Simply arrive at the restaurant to dine on a Sri Lankan feast and present your medal to get your free drink.

Free beer at the Duck and Rice

Pop in to the Duck and Rice in Soho after completing your race for a free beer to toast your achievement in a relaxed space.

Energising smoothie at Lanes of London, Mayfair

Not everyone’s idea of post-race recovery is a pint or glass of bubbles. Lanes of London in Hyde Park will be helping runners refuel with an exclusive (and free) Recovery Boost Smoothie — it contains banana for sustained energy, antioxidant-rich berries, hydrating coconut water, orange juice and Greek yoghurt, finished with a touch of honey. All you need is your medal.

Smoothie bar at EL&N

For the ultimate in post-run revitalisation, EL&N’s Glow Smoothie Bar will be giving out restorative smoothies to those runners who complete the marathon. The range includes Strawberry Dew (created in collaboration with Dose & Co), Tropical Mango, Cacao, Banana & Date, The Revitaliser (maca powder, pistachio sauce, blue spirulina, milk, honey, banana and oats, finished with coconut cream and topped with pistachios) and Vitamin Boost (baobab, mango puree, apricot jam, oats, banana, honey and almond milk), so take your pick.

Free Basque cheesecake

If your route home take you through Soho and you feel like a baked treat, La Maritxu will be giving away complimentary slices of its signature Classic Basque Cheesecake to the first 100 marathon runners who present their medal at its Kingly Court location.

Breakfast and a hot drink at Fremantle Bar & Kitchen

If you happen to find yourself in London’s historic Docklands, Fremantle Bar & Kitchen is offering a complimentary breakfast item with a hot drink, coffee or matcha to anyone who turns up on the day and shows their medal.

Free iced coffee and baked goods item from Fred Bakery

Head to either Fred Bakery’s Oxford Circus or Holborn locations with your medal in hand to claim a complimentary iced coffee and free bakery item. If you can’t make it on the day, don’t worry — the offer’s available until Friday 1 May, so you have just under a week to decide when to get your freebies.

Free chaat dish from Vivek Singh’s restaurants

To satisfy any post-race cravings, chef Vivek Singh’s restaurants are offering medal holders a tasty reward. Cinnamon Bazaar Covent Garden and Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea are giving out a free chaat dish (a traditional Indian street food such as a vegetable samosa or spiced green potato cake with chickpea vermicelli and chutney). Be sure to plan ahead, though, as this deal is only available on the day.

A plate of fresh pasta at Soho’s Pastaio

Freshly made pasta after running 26.2 miles? Definitely. Soho pasta favourite Pastaio will be offering marathon medal holders a complimentary plate of pasta* on the day of the race. It’s the perfect way to refuel after crossing the finish line. *(excludes the lobster linguine)

Free steak at Goucho

Latin-American inspired restaurant Gaucho is offering all London Marathon medal holders a complimentary steak at any of its 11 London restaurants (T&Cs apply). Choose from a selection of signature cuts including sirloin, ribeye, rump or fillet.

Sweat, dip and sip at Miznon

Prove you’ve finished the race to Middle Eastern restaurant Miznon and you can take part in a post-marathon ritual called sweat, dip, sip for free. Don’t worry, there’s no actual sweating involved — there will have been enough of that during the run — it’s just a free bowl of hummus and cold beer from Camden Town Brewery.

Complimentary burger at HBR

The first 100 runners to visit Belgravia’s HBR can get a free burger, including fan favourites such as The OG and Classy Chick. All you need is your medal to prove you ran.

Exclusive freebies and a massage at TALA

Present your medal or registration form at TALA’s Carnaby Street store between 26 April and 3 May to get exclusive freebies. Inside, neighbouring brands will also be joining in the celebrations with Grown Alchemist offering complimentary in-store calf massages on marathon Sunday and Kiss the Hippo providing post-run coffees.

Online recovery yoga classes

Of course, your body will need more than a good meal and a smoothie to recover, and moderate sustained movement will be crucial.  Yoga teacher Emma Taylor will be hosting three free live streamed recovery yoga classes at 9am over the three days following the marathon. On Monday 27 April, expect gentle floor-based postures to ease stiffness; Tuesday 28 April will introduce more flowing, full-body movements to boost circulation and support overall physical ease; and Wednesday 29 April’s session will cover deeper stretches to release tightness and bring back mobility.

To join the class, just fill in the form on the website and include a picture of yourself on the finish line.

Free travel around London

Runners can travel for free on all London Underground and Overground services, including the DLR and London buses, on the big day. To redeem the offer, all you have to do is show your ticket or medal to a member of TfL staff at the ticket gates or when you board.

Sightseeing cruises on the Thames

City Cruises is offering runners a free signature sightseeing cruise that takes in several miles down the Thames and goes past some of London’s most famous landmarks. What’s more, there’s a 30% discount available for any of your friends and family who lined the streets to show their support, too. To redeem the offer, simply show your 2026 medal or registration confirmation email at one of City Cruises’ ticket offices on Sunday 26 April or Monday 27 April. If purchasing online, runners should use voucher code ‘marathonfree’, while friends and family can use code ‘marathon30’ for 30% off.

Discounted Owning Your Menopause membership

Marathon runner and platform founder Kate Rowe-Ham is offering runners and medallists 50% off the first three months of Owning Your Menopause — a supportive community of women navigating the same life stage. Membership gives you access to fitness sessions such as strength training, HIIT, Pilates, yoga, breathwork and mindfulness, as well as nutritional support and guidance from a qualified nutritionist.
