Priya Raj provides a comprehensive guide to achieving a sculpted jawline from the comfort of your bathroom, or sofa.

In 2026, beauty has become technological.

Gone are the days of contouring with makeup, gua sha and expensive facials for sculpting. Now, we’ve entered a craze of devices and tools that promise to tighten, lift and chisel without even having to leave the house.

Brands like FaceGym were the first to revolutionise the concept of facial massages for a more sculpted look, and the developments in tech weren’t far behind. Now, we can achieve clinic-level results at home, often for a fraction of the price for a course of treatments. But — as these products will cost a pretty penny — it’s important to know which actually work and, more importantly, which is the best.

How do microcurrent devices work?

Using sophisticated technology, the devices send low levels of electrical currents to stimulate targeted muscles. The intent is to create a more toned look and boost elasticity.

‘A workout for your face’ is a phrase often linked with microcurrent devices but, like with the gym, you need to be consistent if you want to see a change.

Foreo Bear 2 Microcurrent Device
The Foreo Bear was one of the first at-home microcurrent devices on the market. (Picture: Foreo)

Foreo Bear 2

This is one of the first microcurrent devices that hit the market back in 2020. It couldn’t be easier to use and when used consistently, I saw a genuine difference.

It connects to the Foreo app, which you can use to follow a range of microcurrent exercises, from full face to eye contouring — depending on where you’d like to target.

My goal was to make my cheekbones and jawline look more defined. While I didn’t notice much of a difference to my jawline, I’ve seen improvements in my cheekbones, making my face appear more toned overall.

Ziip halo at-home microcurrent facial device

Ziip Halo 2.0

The brand was founded by Jennifer Aniston’s aesthetician, Melanie Simon — so it comes as no surprise that the device has a huge celebrity following.

The Ziip Halo rings in at roughly the same price as the Foreo Bear, and both devices link to an app that suggests specific movements.

The recommended frequency of use is two to three times per week, which is much more manageable than Foreo’s recommendation of using the Bear five times per week.

The design of the Ziip is sleek and clean, and the product is easier to clean than the Foreo Bear — as serums can get stuck between the metallic spheres and the silicon casing.

Sensse Beauty Skinlift

For a more affordable microcurrent device, Sensse Beauty has various options. Its Skinlift device is easy to handle and can be used on both the face and neck, while also featuring seven LED light modes to target skin concerns such as inflammation and hyperpigmentation.

An element of this product that I haven’t seen before is a heating function, which gently warms the skin to around 45C. While this may sound unappealing, the temperature helps your skin to better absorb products.

NuFace Mini+

Salon microcurrent facials might have instant results, but they also require downtime to allow the skin to recover. With an at-home microcurrent device, you can do your massage in the morning before heading out for the day.

Fans of NuFace’s Trinity+ and Mini+ include skincare mogul Hailey Bieber, so you can be sure it’s a good one. This product needs to be used with an activating gel, which helps the electrical currents reach where they need to go.

Medicube Age-R Booster Pro

We’d be remiss if we didn’t include one of the most viral brands on TikTok right now.

The K-beauty device from Medicube uses microcurrents and LED lights to address various skin concerns.

While it has the same tightening and snatching functions as other microcurrent tools, it also has a ‘booster’ function, which promises to push your serum deeper into the skin.

If you’re looking to make a one-time investment in a tool that does it all, this is the one for you.
