Celebrities are rewriting the rules of maternity fashion, opting to ditch the frumpy dresses and elasticated waistbands in favour of looks that are a little more true to their own personal style (may we present Rihanna’s iconic all-black maternity look).
In June of this year, Kourtney Kardashian Barker announced her pregnancy in an adorable nod to Blink-182’s infamous All The Small Things video, where she can be seen holding up a yellow poster reading ‘Travis, I’m pregnant’ at husband Travis Barker while he performed with his band.

Since then, Kourt has been Poosh-ing the boundaries of maternity wear with a number of edgy looks inspired by her hubby, along with bump-baring LBDs. Below, see her best looks from pregnancy number four.
Comfy casual
In the first few months of pregnancy, dungarees or overalls are a pregnancy staple. While your bump is still growing, you can probably get away with grabbing an old pair from your wardrobe and adjusting the straps as necessary to fit your new pregnancy body. As the pregnancy develops, dungarees will likely be your go-to — both easy to throw on while baby brain is making putting an outfit together seem an impossible task, and easy to style either up or down.
Kourt was seen on the streets of New York donning a Carhatt one-piece over a black graphic tee, finished off with pointed white boots. Both comfortable and casual, this look is a great example of how versatile dungarees can be.

Rocker chic
Kourtney has faced a recent backlash from fans and critics, with some claiming the star has changed her entire look since marrying drummer Travis Barker. Whether you agree or not, you can’t deny she looks good.
In a snap captioned ‘pregnancy is so empowering’, posted while Kourtney was expecting, the socialite leant a gothic air to her maternity wardrobe, styling a sheer laced crop top with a leather-look skirt and trench, plus laced gloves —she is the wife of a rockstar, after all.
If you want to take a leaf out of Kourt’s book, we love this sheer knit dress from her Boohoo edit. Although it’s not technically maternity wear, it’s available in sizes six to 24, so you can size up if needed — Kourt was snapped wearing this exact dress throughout her pregnancy.

An LBD moment
No wardrobe is complete without an LBD. The classic little black dress has long been a go-to for women, largely because of its practicality and versatility. For pregnant ladies, an LBD, or LBMD (that’s little black maternity dress), is equally as essential. A number of high street retailers, including River Island and H&M, have a maternity LBD option. Pair with trainers and a chunky knit for an on-trend office look, or swap out your trainers for boots for post-work (non-alcoholic) drinks.
Here, Kourt pairs a figure-hugging LBD with a super-long pony, Ariana Grande style. Fans showed their appreciation for the look under the post, with one user commenting ‘Love it, rocking the bump ❤️’, while another added ‘Cutest pregnant lady ever 😭🤰🏻’.

High fashion
While it may not be the most relatable of the bunch, Kourt’s high-fashion blue look was nothing short of iconic. Gone are the days where women were expected to hide their pregnancy; now, it’s something to be embraced.
Kourt put her bump on full display in this electric-blue LaQuan Smith two-piece, paired with open-toe silver heels. Poking fun at herself, the Kardashian sister captioned the picture simply with cookie emojis, referring to the iconic Muppets character, Cookie Monster. The look divided fans, although she was largely praised for her IDGAF attitude, with one user commenting ‘I love when pregnant women dress like they aren’t pregnant and STILL pull it off! 44 where??🔥🔥’. We agree.

Dressed-down chic
Of course, not every maternity fashion look can be a high-fashion moment. For the most part, you’re going to want to throw on some leggings and an oversized tee — and that’s perfectly acceptable. Kourtney showed off a relatable pregnancy look in this lift snap (slide eight in the photo dump below), wearing a pair of black leggings and statement tee that just showed off her bump. She paired the casual outfit with chunky black boots, a black trench coat and black sunnies. We’re here for it.
