From a water-resistant mask that protects your hair in the pool to an invisible and sweat-proof sunscreen, these are the skin, hair and body products we’re loving this summer.
The hot summer months (and hot they have been!) often require a switch up to your normal beauty routines. From lighter SPFs that can be reapplied all day to a body moisturiser that gives you the confidence to bare a little more skin than usual, these are some of the products the L360 team cannot recommend enough for the sunny season.
1. Philip Kingsley Swimcap
Obsessive: Mattier Lacey-Davidson, L360 editor
“Every summer, videos appear on my social media claiming that covering your hair in oil or conditioner pre-swim will keep it protected from chlorine. Not only could this make it more susceptible to sun damage, but as a former lifeguard I worry that it’s also no good for the carefully balanced components of clean and safe pool water.
“I recently discovered Philip Kingsley’s Swimcap (£39), which protects your hair from both chlorine and UV rays, while not seeping into the pool water.”

2. Caudalie Beauty Elixir
Obsessive: Evelyn Richards, content editor
Evelyn keeps a bottle of Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir (£18) facial spray in her bag all summer. She says: “This is my go-to refresher when it’s hot out and I feel like I’m melting. Just a quick spritz and my skin instantly feels cooler and more awake. It smells spa-level luxurious and makes me look a little more glowy, even when I’m running around in the sun.
3. Wella Deluxe Rich Oil
Obsessive: Katie Sipp-Hurley, assistant editor
“Those with dry or frizz-prone hair know that taming it isn’t easy at the best of times but, in summer, it’s a full-time job. A non-sticky, non-crunchy hair oil that smooths without hardening the hair’s texture (or making it look greasy) is a must. For this, I’ve found the Wella Deluxe Rich Oil (£7.99) leaves hair feeling soft — never weighed down or stiff.

4. Glossier Invisible Shield SPF50
Obsessive: Natasha Ullman, production controller
According to Glossier, the Invisible Shield SPF50 (£32) is a sunscreen for people who hate wearing sunscreen. And Natasha has been really enjoying using it. She says: “It comes in a light gel form, looks good under makeup and is sweatproof for running.”
5. Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops
Obsessive: Anna Evdokimou, deputy editor
“When it’s hot in London I can’t bear to put foundation, or anything particularly heavy, on my face. For a simple day look, I’ve been opting for my usual moisturiser and SPF, followed by a few drops of Drunk Elephant’s bronzing drops (£35).
“It’s a really nice, lightweight product that doesn’t feel heavy at all, but still allows me to feel a bit more put together. Plus, it’s great at accentuating a tan.”

6. MooGoo Full Cream Moisturiser
Obsessive: Georgia Stephens, contributing editor
Made with sweet almond, coconut and olive oil as well as skin soothing ingredients like aloe vera, allantoin and honey, MooGoo’s Full Cream Moisturiser (£13.50) is Georgia’s favourite for the summer. She says: “I swear by this one, which is a recent discovery. My skin is so freaking moisturised. It’s really helped with the appearance of my arms for summer, as I have keratosis pilaris [bumps caused by blocked hair follicles].”
7. K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Damage Shield Protective Conditioner
Obsessive: Vinny Bains, production controller
Vinny’s already a big fan of the cult favourite Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask. She says the K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Damage Shield Protective Conditioner (£39) is perfect for summer because, “it helps protect against UV rays and it’s a great product overall”.
According to the brand, the biotech-produced polysaccharide acts as a shield to protect hair against other environmental aggressors, too, like heat styling and pollution.
