From spooky theatre shows to ghostly old villages and seasonal treats, London has plenty to thrill this All Hallows’ Eve.

This year, Halloween falls rather fortuitously on a Friday, giving you a full weekend to enjoy to all things spooky.

Luckily, in a city as old as London, there’s plenty of haunted corners and genuinely chilling experiences to enjoy alongside light-hearted seasonal activities. Here’s the best of the bunch.

A Halloween show at The Magician’s Table

For any magic-lovers, or those who might be curious, The Magician’s Table marks Halloween with A Carnival of Curiosities — a night of cocktails, sideshow acts and international magic. Headliners include Dee Christopher, Vita DeVoid, Smashlyn Monroe, The Great Bendini and Sharkey. Guests are encouraged to come in costume to embrace the eerie carnival atmosphere. With only two performances scheduled, tickets are limited — or likely to vanish miraculously into thin air.

Murder mystery at the Old Royal Naval College

Mystery and history meet for a day of spooky festivities on Halloween at the Old Royal Naval College. In the historic Admiral’s house, enjoy a Mystery Craft Evening. Uncover more than 600 years of chilling truths buried in the grounds of this heritage site on one of the Mystery Halloween Tours. Presenting an atmospheric journey through untold tales and hidden histories, this haunting tour is topped off with a complimentary cocktail of Greenwich Gin.

Hampstead Ghost Walk

It’s now one of London’s prettiest neighbourhoods, but Hampstead was once known for its dark and supernatural past. On a one hour and 45 minute walking tour, you’ll encounter Bram Stoker’s Dracula and the enigma of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. As dusk falls, dark alleys, overgrown churchyards and crumbling tombs reveal themselves. Guides recount tales of spectral Victorian murderesses, forlorn girls at windowpanes and a phantom jazz pianist seeking eternal applause. On Hampstead Heath, the ghostly horseman is even said to gallop from the shadows. Tours cost £10 per person and are available for private bookings only.

Ghost Stories, Peacock Theatre

If you fancy a fright, or at least a bit of stage fright, cult hit Ghost Stories returns to London from 30 September to 8 November 2025. Written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman, this Olivier Award-nominated play blends classic ghost story tradition with psychological thrills and dark humour. It follows a sceptical professor investigating supernatural encounters, drawing the audience into a chilling and mystery. Expect near-dark staging, shocking twists and immersive sound design. Tickets are £48, suitable for ages 15+.

Anansi the Spider: The Greatest Tales Ever Spun, Unicorn Theatre

A family-friendly spooky treat, Anansi the Spider returns to the Unicorn Theatre by popular demand following a sold out 2023 run. From 3 October to 16 November, this vibrant retelling of West African and Caribbean folk tales follows Anansi, the cleverest spider in the kingdom, whose wit and charm sometimes come at a cost. Directed by Unicorn associate director Robin Belfield, these tales spin a web of fun and mischief for all ages. Tickets cost from £16.50 to £18.50.

Halloween Lates at the Science Museum

This October, the Science Museum Lates is going all out, offering adults-only, after-hours access to the museum. At Halloween Lates, you can explore exhibits in the evening, attend exclusive talks on the science of the supernatural and try Halloween-themed snacks, drinks and cocktails. Enjoy creepy crafting, a silent disco and horror film screenings, including Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and a 90th-anniversary showing of Bride of Frankenstein. Dress to impress to be in with a chance of winning a prize. VIP tickets cost £12, otherwise entrance is completely free.

No Escape Halloween escape room

From 24 October to 2 November 2025, London’s No Escape 2025 transforms its nine escape rooms into immersive nightmares. Each location across the city becomes a haunted playground, with live actors lurking in every corner. Expect deranged dentists, cursed orphanages, haunted toy stores and demonic barbers. Highlights include The Dentist and Demon Barber (Oxford Street), The Haunted Toy Store, Butcher, Orphanage and Witch’s Curse (Aldgate), The Killer and Darkest Hour (Holloway), plus The Gates of Hell (Victoria). Afterwards, recover with themed cocktails at Victoria’s Purgatory Bar.

Halloween Monster Ball at BAM Karaoke Box Victoria

Over Friday 31 October and Saturday 1 November, BAM Karaoke Box London hosts a two-night Monster Ball inspired by Lady Gaga’s latest album Mayhem. The Parisian townhouse in Victoria will be transformed into Mayhem Room — promising glam, ghosts and glitter. Sponsored by Belvedere, the event features themed cocktails, Gaga-inspired bites, live entertainment, DJ sets and a best dressed competition. General admission costs £16.70 and includes a drink and access to the BAM Bar, while VIP tickets cost £40.70, adding private karaoke rooms, cocktails and food.

Ghosts and Ghouls walking tour

Travel just outside London for a ghostly tour of St Albans’ dark alleyways, historic inns and ancient churches. The Ghosts and Ghouls walking tour explores the city’s most haunted streets, recounting tales of mysterious encounters and spooky apparitions. Highlights include St Albans Cathedral, renowned for hooded figures and unexplained smoke, the White Hart Hotel, home to Victorian ghosts, Fishpool Street’s shadowy figure, The Grange’s ‘Lady in Grey’ and the Wicked Lady pub, which is linked to legendary highwaywoman Katherine Ferrers. Each walk costs £6 per person.
