METRIX
From complete novices to fitness enthusiasts, METRIX is open to all. It’s a great choice for those who put music at the forefront of their workouts, as the production of this immersive fitness event resembles that of a high-scale nightclub. The dark venue will be lit up by beaming lights and booming music, providing an electric atmosphere to fuel your workout.
You can participate as a double, and spectators are more than welcome to come along and enjoy the social and food zones.

ATHX Games
Taking place in Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and Dublin — as well as across Europe — the ATHX Games are a great choice for the fitness pros among us. With both solo and doubles options, the two-and-a-half hour event has been curated to push you to your max and consists of three zones: strength, endurance and metabolic conditioning.
From back squats and 12-minute runs to burpees and box jumps, this challenge will throw some tough workouts at you, so it’s probably not a great choice for a first-timer. You can compete in same sex or mixed pairs, and spectators can purchase a ticket to come along.
When’s the next event?
The next ATHX Games are scheduled for 30 May in Dublin, 20-21 June in Glasgow, 22-23 August in Birmingham and 3-4 October in Liverpool. athxgames.com
The Hybrid Games
Featuring nine runs, nine fitness stations and a 200m sprint to finish, this arena-based fitness challenge will be sure to test your stamina. It’s suitable for both seasoned pros and first-timers and is dedicated to empowering competitors to challenge themselves and celebrate their progress.
There are male and female solo categories, or you can compete in the male, female or mixed doubles divisions. If you haven’t got a partner but would prefer to compete as a duo, you can simply email [email protected] and the team will assist.
When’s the next event?
The next Hybrid Games are scheduled for 11-12 April in Farnborough, 15-16 August in Newcastle and 10-11 October in Glasgow. thehybridgames.uk

Battle Cancer
The ultimate fitness fundraiser, this challenge will have your heart rate going for an important cause. You can choose between three Battle Cancer Challenges so that you can compete at the level that suits you best: Battle Run, Battle Lift or the signature Battle Cancer Challenge.
The latter will see you progress through four high-energy stations in five-minute bursts with four minutes to recover.
You can choose between booking a ticket with an automatic £100 donation to one of the official charity partners, or you can book a ticket and set your own fundraising goals to make a big of an impact as possible.
When’s the next event?
Battle London is scheduled to take place on 17 October, there’s a Battle Glasgow event scheduled for 3 October and Battle Belfast on 27 June. battlecancer.com
Heritage Games
The Piece Hall in Halifax will host the first Heritage Games event this year, bringing a high-intensity competition into the courtyard of the world’s only surviving Georgian cloth hall.
The opening event is the GRAFT HYBRID challenge, a pairs race across 12 tough stations mixing strength, engine and functional fitness. It’s designed to be hard, fast and genuinely fun to watch, not just take part in.
When’s the next event?
