Track steps, sleep, heart rate and even blood oxygen for less with these affordable Fitbit alternatives.
Since rising to prominence in the 2010s, fitness trackers and wearable devices have become a staple for millions of people, who use them to keep tabs on overall wellbeing, achieve fitness goals and help them stay active.
Among the most popular is the Fitbit. Sitting somewhere between a fitness tracker and a smartwatch, these wearables offer comprehensive health and activity monitoring through a well-established ecosystem. Depending on the model, Fitbits can track everything from steps and heart rate to sleep quality, stress levels and even blood oxygen levels (SpO₂).
While some older Fitbit models can be found for around £70, newer devices often cost £100 or more. If you’re after the same features without paying Fitbit prices, these affordable alternatives are worth considering.

Huawei Band 8
One of the lightest fitness trackers on the market, the Huawei Band 8 is ideal for round-the-clock wear, tracking sleep, heart rate, stress, blood oxygen and exercise. It’ll typically deliver up to two weeks of battery life before needing a recharge, but the health data integration works best when using a Huawei phone, so Android or iPhone users might not get the same experience.

Samsung Galaxy Fit 3
Samsung users may find the Galaxy Fit3 a fitting Fitbit alternative. It’s praised for a clean, easy-to-use interface with reliable health and activity tracking. It also looks a tad more premium than the price suggests, with a light, bright display that feels closer to a smartwatch than fitness tracker. The main caveat is if you don’t have a Galaxy phone, the interface may not feel as fluid to use, but it can still be used on other Android devices.

Xiaomi Smart Band 10
At roughly a third of the price of some Fitbit models, the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 tracks sleep, heart rate, steps, blood oxygen, workouts and calories, with a battery life that can stretch beyond two weeks between charges. The compromise is that it doesn’t offer quite the same depth of insight as Fitbit’s established ecosystem. But if you’re mainly interested in reliable day-to-day tracking, it’s great value for money.

At £43.99, it’s a surprisingly good price for an all-round wearable — especially one that offers 24/7 blood pressure monitoring, which the Fitbit currently doesn’t.

Reflex Active Series 8 Activity Tracker Smart Watch
Anyone looking for something significantly cheaper than a Fitbit should consider the Reflex Active Series 8, which is a decent budget alternative. Its battery life might not be quite as good, but it can still track heart rate, sleep and workouts, while using your phone’s GPS for route tracking. Overall, it’s a simpler experience, making it more suited to casual or essential everyday use rather than training for specific fitness goals.
