This season, I’m obsessed with The Wick & Wax Co, a Stamford-based candle brand.

As an avid hiker, pine is my favourite scent, and this candle is the most piney one I’ve smelt (and I’ve scent-tested many). I love being able to bring the outdoors inside with me and filling my room with a fresh, leafy aroma.

My favourite thing about the colder months is that they provide me with the perfect opportunity to cosy up with a good book and a warm drink (thrilling, I know).

But I have a very irritating tendency of leaving my freshly made tea untouched as I lose myself in the pages, and I have no bigger pet peeve than drinking a cold cuppa (don’t get me started on microwaved tea).

Ember keeps your warm drink hot for up to three hours

I run hot, so the cold weather doesn’t bother me too much. The dark mornings, however, are painful.

A few years ago, I bought myself a Lumie light and it helped tremendously. You can go for a traditional beeping alarm or choose from relaxing sounds that softly wake you up. It also means you don’t have to rely on your phone and won’t be hit by bright blue light (which has a negative effect on sleep) if you want to check the time at night.
